HIGH HAZARDOUS CARGO TRANSPORT
T20 and T22 Specialized Tanks are designed for the carriage of high hazardous pressurized liquids or liquefied gases. Our fleet of specialized units are designed under the IMDG code, UN Portable Tank instructions.
Most of the chemicals shipped worldwide are classified as dangerous goods and will fall under the relevant modal regulations.
Our T20-T22 tanks are ASME U2 stamp certified which means our units also meet the standards for Section VIII Division 2 Atlernative Rules. The ASME U2 stamp is for unfired pressure vessels and compliant to ASME’s guidelines including design, fabrication, inspection, and testing, to meet U.S. regulations.
Available in 14,500, 17,500 and 21,000 litre capacities.

The authorised Dangerous Goods Advisor should confirm fitness for purpose of any tank and that the cargo is compatible and will not attack the tank vessel. Tank containers are supplied in accordance with a signed lease and Seaco General Trading Terms.
Overview
- Top Discharge Flange: To facilitate the pressurization of the tank to allow discharge through a pipe from the top of the tank to the bottom inside of the tank. Siphon tube installed.
- Safety Relief Valve: Fitted with a pressure relief valve to help protect the tank from accidental over-pressure and implosion from unwanted vacuum conditions.
- Insulation: Marine grade 304SS Cladding offers high-temperature chemical compatibility and heightened resistance to chlorides and oxidizing acids.
- 12 Steam Heating Runs: 4m2 effective Heating Area providing 1s4 sqm of efficient heating area suitable for high viscosity and solidifying cargoes during transit.
- Baffle Options: Vertical or Horizontal baffle configurations available to help improve safety in the anti-slosh performance in tank containers that can be caused by sudden driving conditions such as braking and cornering.
- Choice of Linings: Rubber, PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) or Coated linings available to help safely transport the most acid-based and temperature sensitive chemicals, protecting the tank container from corrosion and permeating the chemical cargo.
- Level Gauge (optional): Generally, the larger the tank capacity, the greater the margin of error with regards to content measurement and the greater the need for a higher accuracy on level gauge.
- 500 mm Diameter Manlid: The manlid has to be the same pressure as the tank and it is held down with a minimum of six swing bolts, the wing nuts are designed with a softer metal to prevent welding together when tightened.
- Two Spill Boxes: Spill boxes help to protect the relief valve and manhole and collect any spillage of the tank contents. Fitted with lids and stainless steel tubes.
- Walkway: Fitted with a “B” type marine grade aluminium walkway with the option to fit hand rails, to aid safe access around the top of the tank.
